FuturesTrader 71

FuturesTrader 71

FuturesTrader71 (alias Morad Askar) is a professional futures trader. FT71 started trading in 2001 as an equity scalper (a.k.a. SOES bandits) focused on high frequency scaling of NASDAQ stocks. After 2 years, FT71 moved to Chicago to become a proprietary futures trader at the CBOT. After 6 months of intense self-development, FT71 became very profitable. He has received the Eurex Licensed Trader designation and is a member of the CME group.

  • From 2003 to 2010, FT71 traded for his own prop account and built a unique and very successful prop trading firm. FT71 hired, trained and developed futures prop traders for his firm.
  • In 2009, FT71 appeared on Twitter in an effort to give back to the community, extend his reach to other traders online and to expand his knowledge. He has since focused on creating a win-win situation for online traders.
  • Linn Software has worked closely with FuturesTrader71 to maintain, over the years, a central hub of key resources for FT71 followers, including webinars, chart definitions and instructional videos.
  • In 2018, FT71 launched ConvergentTrading, his new collaborative platform dedicated to the development and mentoring of traders. In 2020, he created Edgclear, which is listed among our list of recommended Brokerage Partners.
When it comes to the futures market, FT71 is a widely recognized pioneer in many areas, including :
  • Using Volume Profiles as a tool to read the market auction, as highlighted in the videos of this Convergent Trading playlist.
  • Analyzing the market behavior using a statistical approach while incorporating auction market theory concepts.
  • Helping traders develop their skills, having shared his experience and wisdom in numerous public “Ask Me Anything” webinars and during the 2657 episodes (!!) of his daily “Trader Bites” pre-open market review (streamed live on Youtube from 2013 to April 2024).
