Specific Settings / Strategies for Trading Imbalance
Steve,
Anyone with specific settings and/or strategies for trading imbalance are certainly welcomed in this thread. I'm hopeful some will come along and share. My days are more focused on developing the tools and options needed, and letting those of you that watch these tools at work throughout the session decide what combination of settings works best (and that can obviously vary by the instrument, the periodicity, session, etc).
... Toggle on naked VPOCs of each bar.
... Adjust the Imbalance Percentages for the Red and Green highlighted price
... Adjust the weak side minimum volume required for Imbalance
Hi, I am using a VolumeScope chart with MPH buy/sell imbalances as filled boxes (green buy/red sell) on it. I wanted to set up an audible alert for strong imbalances (both buy and sell) and wondered how I can link in the Signal Marker to my chart. Can the signal be attached to either VolumeScope or MPH, or do I need to work out entirely separate imbalance syntax for the Signal Marker. If it's the latter, can you please advise on the syntax that would replicate the MPH imbalance boxes? Thanks in advance for your help.
That is much easier than you think. Simply scroll down to bottom of MPH settings and you'll find an option to trigger a Signal Action (audible alert) when a new price is highlighted. You have a few additional options for when the alert is fired like "Highlights = Z" which means it will sound the alert when the current bar gets to Z highlighted prices.
Thanks....it's been a while since I've used Investor RT and I didn't realise there were more menu items below on the scroll bar! Thanks for the quick response :)
Strong Side (Imbalance) vs Strong/Weak (Imbalance)
I have the same question. Here is an example from the ES on 1-18-19.
Left side is background: Strong/Weak (Imbalance) and right side is Strong Side (Imbalance).
The white arrows point out a few prices where the 2 settings show a difference.
Could you reiterate the logic used with Strong/Weak (Imbalance)?

Hello,
where can I find a chart definition of the Volumescope-Chart as it was shown in the first presentation video?
Thx
Are you referring to chart in this video at 30 second mark? https://www.linnsoft.com/videos/volumescope-announcement
Try this one: https://www.linnsoft.com/charts/volumescopedemo-es
Use the buttons at top to...
... Toggle on naked VPOCs of each bar.
... Adjust the Imbalance Percentages for the Red and Green highlighted price
... Adjust the weak side minimum volume required for Imbalance
That's it! Thank you very much!

Welcome Back!
Hey Chad. Quick question. What is the difference between these two options under Color for the Volume Scope definition?
