Hi Everyone,
Is there a way to have an automated trading system running without having the computer / IRT turned on?
My gut would say no - but I thought worth a shot asking. I would imagine there would have to be some time of API or VPS running to route orders to the broker.
If the answer is no - is anyone running a 24/5 system? What are best practices to combat your computer unintentionally going to sleep, losing internet, etc.
Adam,
IRT would need to be open if it's managing your trades in any way (Signal Markers, Trading System Indicator, etc).
If you submit a trading order, with a server-side strategy attached to it, from IRT.....then quit IRT....that order is still out there, and could would be filled if price came back to your entry, and then the server-side strategy would kick in and manage it.
But in general, if you're using a component of an IRT chart or indicator to manager your trade, then IRT...and that chart...must be open.
