More V variable store options for Profile indicator

Hello,

I really enjoy the functionality of the profile indicator. I use a lot of distributions in my analysis and the profile indicator is invaluable for this. I was hoping, however, if more options can be made available in the future. Mainly, I would like to have more flexibility when choosing what information is stored into V variables, and which V variables are effected. I like being able to store the VAH, POC and VAL, but I was hoping more custom levels can be added. For example, the profile indicator can currently be drawn using an additional VAH level, but as far as I can tell, that cannot be stored into a V variable along with the main VAH, POC and VAL.

I currently analyze 70%, 80% and 90% VA thresholds and would like to be able to store those in V variables with one profile indicator. To currently achieve this, I use three profile indicators per instrument, setting the VAH values at 70%, 80% and 90% respectively. Each profile then automatically utilizes three V variables each so per instrument I use three profiles and nine V variables. For efficiency I would like to use one profile and just three V variables if possible.

Thank you for considering my suggestion. I appreciate the continuous hard work that goes into improving IRT.

VA2 to V#

So instead of VAH/VAL/POC you'd like to see that become a listbox with various options, and the specific one you're interest in is "VA1/VA2" and it would use 4 consecutive V# variables to store VAH/VAL/VAH2/VAL2?

Hi Chad,

Hi Chad,

Yes, a list box would be great to select specific items to store into V# variables. And within that box, in addition to the current ability to create a VA2 level at a specific percentage, I would like the ability to create additional VA levels (VA3, VA4, etc.) and configure their respective percentages. Depending on the instrument and what I am looking at (price, volume, delta), I like to measure value areas as such: VA: 60%, VA2: 70%, VA3: 80%, VA4: 90% and so forth. So the ability to create additional VA's within one profile would be great.

Along with that, a respective list box would be nice to choose which specific V# variable (not necessarily consecutive) that new VA/item will be stored just like the current ability within a custom indicator's configuration (the "record current value into variable" list box).

Hope this makes sense. Thank you for your help.
