Adding Images

If you are logged into the site, then you should be able to simply take a screenshot and copy to clipboard and then paste into one of these replies to a forum topic.   This doesn't work on all browsers, but I know it does work on Firefox.  That is very convenient so may be worth using Firefox for forum posting just for that one feature.  Reply to this comment and try pasting in an image of your chart to see if it works.

Copy to Clipboard - Chart Image

Try right-clicking in a chart and "Copy to Clipboard > Chart Image" and then come back to a comment here and paste (ctrl-v).  Does that work?

Not able to paste a picture.

Not able to paste a picture. What I wanted to show was that I am fiddling with the pivot strategy analysis tool and I'm not getting any results at all with the weekly S2 no matter which variables I change within the PSA.

definition of "inside" when level moves

hey chad ... what about when your level moves ... like an EMA for example? at one point, the EMA might be above the open and later in the day the EMA might be below the open. what happens then? (i was hoping this would appear below the definition posted earlier in this thread ... ??) appreciate a clarification on how this is treated in the calculating of results. ta ... :-) deb

Moving Levels

I assume you are referring to the options of Traders From: Inside or Outside?

It looks for the location of the level (MA) relative to open on the 1st bar of the period (day). So if the MA is above the open on the 1st bar of the session, and you're trading from Inside, then it will take trades when price approaches the MA from below for the entire session.

using PSA to test MA levels

Hi Chad,

I'm unsure if I configured my chart and PSA correctly, so I'd like your assistance. Ultimately here is what I'm attempting to do:

Test 1st-time daily touches of various simple moving average periods on different periodicities. So for example, on the 1min chart, the first touch of the 60-day 100 MA, long or short.

Is there a way to optimize the periodicities and MA periods together?

Thanks Ross
