Indicators who purpose is to initiate trading orders or provide user feedback when in a trading position.
A Signal Action is a user-defined and named specfication for actions to be performed when the named signal action is executed. Various indicators in Investor/RT can trigger the execution of a named Signal Action, e.g. when the Reference Line or Trend Line indicator senses that price has touched or broken through the line, or when a signal marker or a trading signal is turning true,or it can just be triggered manually through a chart button action.
ChartMiniTrader is an RTX extension available to all Investor/RT subscribers. To invoke the Mini Trader, right-click in any multi-pane chart and choose Trade > ChartMiniTrader. The ChartMiniTrader is a minimalist user interface for submitting trading orders that is seen in a sidebar at the right side of the chart. Since the Mini Trader occupies only a small portion of the side typically, the side bar can also be setup to contain other RTX extension such as a Clock, or various FlexMeters. For users of CQG, Gain, and RIthmic order routing, server side OCO bracket orders are supported using Trading Strategy setups.
ChartTradingDOM an RTX extension available to all Investor/RT subscribers. To invoke the DOM, right-click in any multi-pane chart and choose Trade... The ChartTradingDOM is a price ladder supporting single click in the Buy or Sell column to place limit/stop orders at specific prices. For users of RIthmic and CQG order routing, server side OCO bracket orders are supported using Trading Strategy setups.
The PivotStrategyOptimizer (PSO) builds upon the PivotStrategyAnalysis (PSA) indicator to create an extremely powerful combination. PSO enables the optimization of any combination of a number of variables within PSA, allowing the user to quickly determine the optimal combination of values which would have resulted in maximized profits. PSO can optimize the target, stop, reset distance, frontrun wiggle, allowable trading hours, number of allowable trades/day, or an infinite array of other variables within the custom indicator upon which the PSA is based.
The PivotStrategyAnalysis (PSA) RTX Extension allows the user to specify any key daily or weekly price level such as previous high, previous close, or overnight VPOC, and analyze the effectiveness of that level as a pivot point during the following session or week. The indicator provides for a variety of convenient options including stop, target, frontrun wiggle, reset distance, nature of system, trade limits, and time filters. The frontrun wiggle determines how far ahead of the level, if any, to enter the trade (defaults to 0).
The Trading Order is a named object that specifies the properties of an order that can be sent to the brokerage (or the Investor/RT trading simulator) in various ways. Trading Orders can be executed (sent to brokerage) via Chart Buttons, via a Signal Action, via a Trading System rule, via an RTX Extension such as the Chart Trading DOM or the Chart Mini Trader extensions.
The Trading System Indicator (TSYS) charts the actions of a Trading System built using the Investor/RT Trading System Tools. The TSYS can operate on bars of any periodicity, both historically (backtesting) and going forward. TSYS clearly marks all position changes, whether it be an entry, an exit, a reversal or an addition or reduction of an existing position. Stepped lines are optionally drawn on every bar in every trade, to show the entry price, stop/trailing stop price, target price, and more. An optional trade box can be wrapped around every trade. Since Trading Systems can use multiple signals/rules to manage the behavior of the system over time, this indicator is much more powerful than a single Signal Marker or combination of Signal Markers. The Trading System allows each signal/rule to have knowledge of the current condition of other signals, as well as the current characteristics of the overall system.
Similar to News Markers, the trading notes marker indicator places markers on the chart for each bar that has an associated trading note. When you enter trading notes for an instrument you can specify the exact date and time of the note. Whether you are viewing a daily or intra-day chart the marker will be placed on the bar with the closest date time of each trading note.
