Build RTX with Visual Studio 2010

Users that plan to build RTX Extensions with Visual Studio 2010 must first set several Environment Variables to tell Visual Studio and Windows were to look for lib files, exe files and .h include files for C++ (note that these are User Environment Variables, not System Environment Variables). This is done by going to the Start menu and searching for "env." Then click on this link: ev.png

Setting up Custom Voice Alert Sounds

Is it possible to set voice alarms or sound alarms with Investor/RT (wav file)?

Yes. One example could be "News in 5 minutes". This sound could run on the schedule before news announcements each day. Or you might create a sound that says "CCI Buy Signal" and use it when the a CCI-based long signal fires.

You can use any voice record software to create sounds files. If you already have the wav files, then go to step 3 below.

Tutorial - Sending Your Database

Occasionally, when diagnosing a problem, Linn Software support may request that you send your data_f folder contents to enable us to reproduce the specific problem. Some problems are very specific to the particular way a chart or some other object is defined. Please do not email your database to support unless requested. The data_f folder/directory contains 59 files that constitute the Investor/RT database. Since this folder's contents can often be hundreds of megabytes in size, sending the data_f by email is impossible, even after compressing the files.
