Is it possible to set voice alarms or sound alarms with Investor/RT (wav file)?
Yes. One example could be "News in 5 minutes". This sound could run on the schedule before news announcements each day. Or you might create a sound that says "CCI Buy Signal" and use it when the a CCI-based long signal fires.
You can use any voice record software to create sounds files. If you already have the wav files, then go to step 3 below.
- Use the Windows "Voice Recorder" application to record a short clip for the alert, e.g. say "ES High".
- Give the file a meaningful name, e.g. "ES-High" (do not include spaces in the file name, hyphens, underscores are okay).
- Place the file(s) into the sounds folder inside your InvestorRT folder at C:\Users\yourUserName\InvestorRT\sounds
- Exit Investor/RT and startup again.
- Go to File > Preferences... and select Sounds. Choose your newly created alert sounds(s) and click the Preview button to verify that they play properly
- This sound will now be available to for use anywhere in Investor/RT such as the schedules, alarms, signal actions, etc.
- If you would like to create signal actions out of all your existing sounds (including new ones you created or imported) check the "Create Signal Actions for each Sound" checkbox in the Sounds preferences and press the OK button.
There are a number of free Text to Speech web sites that enable you to download mp3 sound files created from text input.
